Rains drive ethanol prices higher

Cepea, September 16, 2026 – Prices for both anhydrous and hydrous ethanol continued to rise in the São Paulo market, influenced by rains in producing regions of central-southern Brazil, which suspended field activities and limited supply.

 

With more rains forecast, players are concerned about how much sugarcane is still expected to be processed before the end of the crushing season and how much product will be in stocks over the coming months, as activities are halted and behind schedule.
