Cepea, June 18 2018 – After increasing sharply in the first week of June, right after the end of truckers’ strike in Brazil, demand for ethanol decreased in the second week of the month, pressing down quotes. Concerned about the possible lack of fuel in the country, final consumers filled up their tanks as soon as the product arrived again at gas stations, early in the month, having comfortable amounts for the short term.
According to Cepea surveys, the volume of hydrous ethanol sold by the mills from São Paulo State between June 2 and 9 was 76% larger than that in the last week of May and 116% above that at the beginning of the season
