Higher productivity should offset smaller area in the 19/20 season

Cepea, May 17 2019 – Wheat sowing (2019/20 crop) is advancing in Brazil and the area allocated to the cereal should be smaller than that last year. Still, so far, the output is forecast to increase, due to the possible productivity recovery. This scenario is opposite to that observed last year, when the wheat area was larger, but the weather lowered the productivity of winter crops
